The (almost) Guiltless Split

I know that it is far from ice cream season but I Loooooooove sweet things. It is my Achilles heel for eating healthy haha. I was watching the Disney Channel and they did like segments on some families favorite food to make or somethin like that. This dad and his son made ice cream from just bananas. Since then if seen the recipe everywhere. If you haven't seen it I'm here to blow your mind! Hahaha. The first time I made this my daughter and I say on the floor, watched Frozen and devoured it as is! This go round I felt a little more indulgent but I didn't feel too bad after this. This recipe is super easy. The hardest part is the waiting hahaha.

DIDDY'S CHILI

It's noon and just nearly 50° outside. To my husband that's not bad. To me it's time to pull out every coat and hoodie I can find! Haha. I've been craving some of my dad's chili and so that is what went down for dinner last.

I got ahold of my dad to get his secret for his chili and was surprised as how non-complicated it was. So here is my most favorite chili recipe ever!

DIDDY'S CHILI

INGREDIENTS:

-1 lb hamburger ($4.38 ground beef chuck at Walmart)
-1 packet Chili seasoning (I used mild. 74¢ Walmart)
-1 jar salsa (heat of your choice. I used medium picante sauce from Dollar General for $1)
-1 can of chili beans (again of your choice. I used Bush's Mild. And I like my chili bean heavy so I used a big can $1.50 and a regular sized can 92¢ as well.)
-Cheese (for topping. $2.50 8oz bag on sale at Dollar General)

•Brown hamburger in a skillet and then drain it when it's done.
•Transfer to a pot and add chili seasoning and stir until hamburger is well covered with it.
•Add Beans and Salsa and cook until it's heated through.
•Serve with Cheese, crackers or whatever you like on your chili

Maiden Voyage

This is my food blog experiment. Ta-Da!!  Hee-hee :) I want to share some of the cheap and easy delicious meals that me and my small family fall in love with as we find them. this will be an interesting journey with our little 2 year old playing the game of how many words a minute can Mommy type while she pushes as many buttons as she can ha-ha! We are budget hunting and I hope that as we hunt that this will help you if you are too. Wish me happy hunting!

Amazing Veggie Fajitas

My sister periodically comes to our house to cook something for us that she's excited about. She has a very strict diet because of her kidneys so when she finds something she can eat that also tastes great she gets super excited and has to share it with me. After she made it for us the first time I was surprised at how cheap it was to make. Especially since I've been learning how to make all sorts of bread (I'm determined not to buy anything bread related because it tastes better and I assume it's better for you.) and found this amazing Tortilla recipe from The CafĂ©. (this recipe and all others are based on how I keep flour, salt, yeast and butter in our kitchen at all times ) When grocery shopping I usually time making these when cheese is goes on BOGO which is at least every other week. I also added prices for where I got everything.
